Daniel Haynes is assistant director of learning and technology for the Center for Teaching and Learning. He is also executive editor of the International Journal for the Scholarship of Technology-Enhanced Learning. Daniel has served as interim director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Georgia Gwinnett College. He earned his Ph.D. in religion from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom in 2011 and has taught undergraduate and graduate philosophy (ethics) and religion courses at the university level for more than 10 years (both online and face-to-face). Currently, Daniel is working on a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, on the philosophy of technology and ethics. His research interests include connected learning through technology; distributed learning, particularly in massive open online classes (MOOCs); gamification of learning through technology; and augmented realities for experiential learning.
