Leaders in Teaching and Learning
The Leaders in Teaching and Learning program develops faculty leaders to foster effective teaching within disciplinary units across campus. Leaders in Teaching and Learning serve a one year term and meet regularly throughout the academic year for professional development, community, and mentorship.
Leaders engage in professional development sessions, contribute to a teaching and learning initiative, interview a leader of teaching and learning in their own discipline, craft a leadership vision statement, and develop a short term action plan.
Leaders also receive funding to attend the University System of Georgia Teaching and Learning Conference.
Leadership Development
“Prior to joining the Leaders in Teaching and Learning, I hadn’t thought of myself as a leader per se, but through cross-disciplinary conversations and projects such as the informational interview, this program helped me embrace a broader role as a leader in teaching and learning.”
–Himani Sharma, senior lecturer in the School of Materials Science and Engineering
