Sarah Kegley, MA
International TA Program Manager
Sarah Kegley is the International Teaching Assistant program manager in the Center for Teaching and Learning. Kegley designs international teaching assistant programming, which includes training in teaching skills and cultural awareness for work in the U.S. university classroom. With a background in Applied Linguistics and intercultural communication, Kegley’s portfolio includes training and resources for those looking to develop their skills in oral English and intercultural communication for teaching purposes. She provides workshops, classes, and consultations to graduate students as well as creates resources and training materials for those looking for more flexible practice.
After ten years teaching in the Atlanta public schools, Kegley ‘s career moved her to Spain, where she led the American Language and Culture program at the International Institute in Spain, after which she led both undergraduate and graduate students as the Director of Student Life at Saint Louis University’s Madrid campus.
Prior to Georgia Tech, Kegley was a senior lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University, teaching intercultural communication and Applied Linguistics, and undergraduate composition. She created multiple teacher-training workshops for international teacher cohorts.
Kegley’s work in the Center for Teaching and Learning includes teaching, observing, and mentoring international teaching assistants and Graduate Teaching Fellows. Kegley especially enjoys shining a light on international voices and perspectives that enhance the Atlanta campus efforts towards internationalization.
