Teaching and Learning in an Age of Artificial Intelligence

Developing Course Guidelines for Students’ Use of Artificial Intelligence

Are you seeking to develop effective course guidelines for students’ use of AI for your course?  Would you benefit from seeing examples of course guidelines that promote students’ development of academic integrity and ethical use of AI? Are you struggling to develop course guidelines that create student opportunities to use AI and prevent student academic misconduct?

If so, please join this interactive conversation sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning and featuring:

David Joyner, Ph.D., Executive Director, Online Education & OMSCS, College of Computing, who will share his official course policy on using AI tools in class in ways that balance collaboration and academic integrity.

and

Ronald Mazique, J.D. Associate Dean of Students, Director, Office of Student Integrity, who will discuss the role of the Office of Student Integrity in supporting and enforcing policies that faculty create for students’ use of AI.

In this session you will:

  • learn from examples of course policies for AI use;
  • become familiar with the role of the Office of Student Integrity in helping support and enforce your course policies for AI use and academic integrity;
