
Peter Ariev is a Senior Academic Professional supporting faculty learning and technology initiatives for the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). He collaborates with the Provost Teaching and Learning Fellows, the Teaching with Technology Partnership, and leads initiatives to support transformation and innovation in faculty uses of teaching and learning technologies. In prior roles, Dr. Ariev has created systems of faculty development focused on pedagogical skill, course and assessment design, instructional technology innovation, and program assessment. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor and Education Department Chair at Loyola University Maryland and has worked in faculty development roles focused on instructional technology innovation at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland. He holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland, College Park, specializing in professional development and his scholarship focuses on learning to teach, professional development, and innovation in higher education and has been published in Teachers College Record, The Journal of Teacher Education, and The Journal of Curriculum Studies.
