Georgia Tech aims to produce graduates who have the knowledge, skills, and commitment to making a positive difference in their communities, their organizations, and the world. To achieve this mission, CTL, the Sustainability Education & Curriculum Committee (SECC), and the Center for Sustainable Communities Research and Education (SCoRE) support transformative sustainability and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) course integration. Browse through United Nations and other online resources that support sustainability and SDG teaching. Engage with worksheets and other materials that introduce instructors to the SDGs and Education for Sustainable Development. Review models and complete templates for developing SDG-related student learning outcomes. Explore examples and resources that will help you design SDG-aligned units, student projects, and learning activities.
Communities of Practice for Faculty
CTL and partners facilitate two Communities of Practice supporting instructors who are teaching with the SDGs.
Community of Practice on Transformative Teaching with the SDGs: This group of Georgia Tech faculty meets regularly for cross-disciplinary peer learning and collaborative initiatives that advance sustainability and SDG teaching and learning at Georgia Tech.
Multi-Institutional Community of Practice on College Teaching with the SDGs: Associated with the RCE Greater Atlanta, this Georgia-wide group with faculty from 6+ colleges and universities meets twice each semester for presentations and discussions on aspects of SDG teaching.
Transformative Teaching & Learning, HIPs, and the SDGs
Georgia Tech’s Institute Strategic Plan (ISP) commits to “providing all students with transformative learning experiences to grow as creative, ethical, globally aware, technologically sophisticated leaders who can define and solve problems to improve the human condition”. Upcoming Webinar: Assessing the Impact of Sustainability Across the Curriculum
Join us on February 10th for a webinar exploring sustainability across the curriculum. Leaders from Georgia Tech’s sustainability across the curriculum program will discuss a cohort-level research study underway that will measure changes in teaching practices and student learning outcomes resulting from the redesign of courses across diverse disciplines to incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
