Online Resources that Support Sustainability & SDG Teaching and Learning
An Introduction to Teaching with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Instructors who are new to teaching with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals can explore these free, online resources:
- UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development Goals includes sample learning objectives, assignment and activity ideas, and case studies.
- The Manitoba Council for International Cooperation’s Sustainable Foundations: A Guide for Teaching the Sustainable Development Goals also provides sample learning objectives, case studies, and curricular connections for each of the 17 goals.
Please note: Some of the learning objectives in these resources do not align with widely accepted criteria for effective learning objectives. We recommend you use them as helpful starting points and evaluate them critically, re-writing as needed. Please refer to our SDG Student Learning Objectives Guide for guidance on writing effective learning objectives.
