Thank you for your interest in Fundamentals in Teaching and Learning for Post-Docs! This is a 10-week course designed to prepare you for a college teaching position. You will be introduced to the theories of pedagogy that support effective teaching and learning in higher education. You will explore and apply learner-centered teaching principles based on the research about how people learn. You will also be introduced to the backward design framework, where you will learn how to build effective courses and design engaging learning experiences. Upon completing this course, you will be prepared to move on to the Tech to Teaching Capstone, a mentored teaching experience that allows you to gain insight into the realities of teaching a college course by serving as a co-instructor or instructor of record.
